More than 30 years have passed since OHST Medizintechnik in Rathenow produced its first acetabular cup. Today, the name OHST is synonymous with the production of high-quality joint implants and surgical instruments. founded in 1937 in Rathenow by toolmaker Willi Ohst, today's OHST AG is still a family business. In the beginning the company manufactured tooling devices for the local optical industry, later paper testing machines for the export market of the GDR. In the mid-1980s, the first acetabular cups were developed together with the Berlin Charité hospital, and series production of these began in 1987. From the 1990s onwards, medical products became the sole field of business. After thirty years, the increased requirements for medical device manufacturers and the internationalization of the business ensured a new generation change at OHST. Norbert Ohst's sons, Stephan Dunke and Sebastian Sturm, have taken over the management of the company. We cordially invite you to take a look at our 80 year history as a family business.
