The company name EKU was created from the names of the three founders, Erdmann, Karacsony and Ulrichskötter. Since its founding in 1992, EKU has specialised in the development and production of electronic products for mechanical ventilation, anaesthesia, medical gas therapy and diagnostic measurement technology for medical products. In addition, the company manufactures for other medical and industrial companies within the scope of contract manufacturing, in keeping with EKU s philosophy: From the idea to the finished product . Since 1998, EKU-products have been maketed worldwide through its own sales channels or through national and global cooperation with local sales partners. All development and manufacturing take place in-house at the facility in Leiningen. Internal expertise, along with the dedication of the EKU-team, is the key to its success in national and international markets. In May 2024 Messer acquired EKU Elektronik GmbH, strengthening its position as a solutions provider in the pharmaceutical sector. Until now, Messer has focused on the production of nitric oxide (NO) as a medicinal product. Thanks to the acquisition of EKU, the company can now also market dosing devices for NO therapies and expand its distribution channels by leveraging EKU s established network. This strategic move enables Messer to offer comprehensive solutions to the global healthcare market while increasing EKU s visibility and market presence.
